Job Title: Museum Curation Internship

Position Description: The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center is looking for an undergraduate or graduate student to work with us on a variety of museum projects and events. The intern will experience daily operations of a museum and cultural center during the busy summer months. This position will include providing tours of the gallery space and historic village, as well as working with Heritage Center staff to develop an internship project of his or her choosing. Projects are available in museum exhibit development, site-specific research, and others.

Necessary Qualifications: Students applying should have an academic background in history, public history, marketing, communication, education, parks and recreation, or related fields. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply.

Type of Pay: Unpaid

Position Description: The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center is looking for an undergraduate or graduate student to work with us on a variety of projects and events. The intern will experience daily operations of a museum and cultural center during the busy summer months. This position will include providing tours of the gallery space and historic village, as well as working with Heritage Center staff to develop an internship project of his or her choosing. Projects are available in educational program development, event planning, site-specific research, and others. The position is available from mid-May to mid-August; some evening and weekend work will be required.
